Amber’s Diary: storytelling, snazzy nails & shopping for cars!
I’ve decided a good way to log memories, keep note of what’s happening in my life and a fun thing to do would be to keep a weekly diary within my blog – and here is the first one!
This week was another busy one for me. On Tuesday I visited Todholm Primary school in Paisley who were holding a Storytelling Festival. It’s a one of a kind festival where the children are read to by visitors, read books themselves and even read to the elderly within the community who are in care homes. It was so lovely to be a part of and it was so well organised. The playground was set up with colourful tents, chairs and rugs to create a festival atmosphere – and there were even Kirspy Kremes (a winner all round!)
I read stories to children between the ages of 6 and 8, and it was wonderful to include some of my favourite Julia Donaldson books in my storytelling.
It is so lovely to get out into the different communities around Glasgow and the surrounding areas and meet different people – I even got a certificate at the end, making me feel like a proud kid leaving school!
Wait till you see these Easter nails I got on Thursday… Desiree, who does my nails is fab at freehand nail art and always has brilliant and wacky ideas. I love bright colours, a bit of glam glitter and I’m always up for having new fun ideas on my fingers! This week the schools in Glasgow break up for a 2 week easter holiday and I wanted to get myself in the springtime spirit!
2 hours later, this was my outcome! A beautiful and happy looking little bunny on my right hand, a bouquet of tulips on my left and little glittery dotty easter egg pattern on both hands with plain cerise hot pink and a baby glitter blue in between… I just love them!!
April Fools Day came around once again and this year, I decided to go car shopping because I am in desperate need of some new wheels. After remembering it was April Fools, I thought that maybe I would beep the car horn and water would squirt out, sit on a whoopee cushion or be given a crazy deal! But thankfully, none of that happened and I happily left the garage after ordering a beautiful little Mini One. I have always always wanted a mini and it’s been my ideal car for so long and I’m grateful that I now have a little beauty I can call my own coming my way!
I can’t wait to see what next week holds,
Keep Smiling
Amber x
